DRIVING FOR CHILDREN'S CHARITIES
![]() The club's primary objective is to raise money for children's charities through social and competitive motoring events. Membership is open to owners of all classic saloons and sports cars, modern sports cars and kit cars of a sporting nature. We also have a number of members who just enjoy being part of the Bears and raising money for charity. The Bears in the north are affectionately known as the Polar Bears. We have a lively social programme, meeting four times a year for a fund-raising Sunday lunch and attending several classic shows as well as running touring events. The Polar Bears will be at Thirlestane Castle, Lauder, on Sunday 5th June 2011 when our volunteer drivers will be ready to give passenger rides to those who make an appropriate donation to charity. Last year our nominated charity was REACT (Rapid Effective Assistance for Children with potentially Terminal illness). We shall be situated in front of the castle and we shall offer a once-in-a-lifetime chance for you to ride in the car of your dreams. There will be a wide range of cars on offer, many of which are capable of leaving black lines on the road! Visit - www.reactcharity.org, but do come along on the day to support us in helping children who are seriously ill. |
